To Add a Repair Task to the AssetWise Datasource

Repairs are a subclass of Task. All Repair cases should be grouped under a parent class. For example,
Tip: It is recommended to create templates within the Immediate, Permanent, and Temporary classifications, as illustrated above.

Follow these steps to create a Repair class.

  1. In AssetWise Director, log in to your community.
  2. From the View menu, select System Administration.
    Tip: You can also press F8.
  3. Expand the Classes & Attributes tree.
  4. Select the Tasks class.
  5. Select the Repairs class.
  6. Select the class that will be assigned as the parent of the new class.
  7. In the Child Classes section, click New.
  8. Enter a class Code.
    Tip: Select theALL_CAPS_WITH_UNDERSCORE style.
  9. Enter a Name for the repair.
    Tip: Select the First Letter Capitalized And Spaces Between Words style.
  10. In the Type box, select Repair, and then click the Save icon in the Tool bar. The Repair class is saved.
  11. In the Templates topic, click New.
  12. Enter a Name for the template.
  13. Enter a Description for the template.
  14. In the Template Mask, enter REP-$(YY)-#####, and then click the Save button in the tool bar. The template class is saved.
  15. In the Template State, select Approved.
  16. Click the Save button. The template is saved.
